The Red Cliff Reflection

After taking much time to wait, I've watched the RED CLIFF movies (part 1 and 2) at last. I must say that this exposition of 'Romance Of The Three Kingdoms' is very interesting.

I've known about Romance Of The Three Kingdoms since 1990, I've played the PC game, read the comics, read the books. It's always a pleasure when I think it over. This legendary history is one of a great influence of my life beside the BIBLE for sure.

This story finally is the triangle power of Wei, Wu and Shu kingdoms, where Wei kingdom ruled by Cao Cao and located at North of China, then Wu kingdom ruled by Sun Quan located at Southeast of China and Shu Kingdom, ruled by Liu Bei and located at Southwest of China.

For long time I adore Liu Bei as a charismatic ruler who is very concern about his followers. Though he is not a great warlord or great commander, Liu Bei is a low profile ruler who has great followers. Let's say Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao, Yan Yan, and great strategy-man, Zhuge Liang. Zhuge Liang is the center of this history, cause he is hmmm... great thinker, Sun Tzu's expert, wheather predictor and so many things are in his head.

It's hard to write this posting without telling most of the history, but the reflection about this story are :

1. Loyalty
I learned about loyalty from Guan Yu. He is a very loyal man. Though Liu Bei lost many war, and Guan Yu has most capabilities to leave Liu Bei and join Cao Cao, he never think about it. He always support Liu Bei and do whatever he can to save the Shu Kingdom.
Beside Guan Yu, Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, and most of Liu Bei's followers has great loyalty.

2. Friendship
It's interesting when I saw RED CLIFF, Zhou Yu (from Wu Kingdom) and Zhuge Liang are one of the great sidekicks in this history. Zhuge Liang strategy, combined with Zhou Yu's can give Wu-Shu alliance (with only 50.000 men) get their victory over Cao Cao (who has almost 800.000 men with him).
They realize that someday they will fight each other on the battlefield, but when they have to combine their strength, they do it very nice.

may be I will continue about this later. But Friendship and Loyalty are the most life-value that I got on this great history.
